What Alaskan Cruise do you choose? With so many cruises heading to Alaska which is the better one? We've been asked that question on numerous occasions.

First, each cruise line offers it's own specific amenities. It all depends on your taste. Price wise, Norwegian Cruise Lines has typically offered the best rates for an Alaskan Cruise. You can get good rates for the other cruise lines too, we, therefore, recommend that you read the 10 Tips To A Discounted Cruise.

Secondly, the Ports of Call can vary too, depending upon the ship. A cruise line typically assigns a specific ship for a select run that stops in at various Ports of Call. All you need to do is look at the various ships of a specific cruise line and review the Ports of Call. Each Port has its opportunities.

Also, note that each ship may visit either Glacier Bay or the Tracy Arm. The glaciers at Glacier Bay are bigger, with a larger ice-floe. You may also see whales, sea otters, and seals in the 3.3 million acres of Glacier Bay. Tracy Arm, however, is a fjord-like area, a small channel with mountains rising out of the channel. It's spectacular in its own right.

If you're looking to see a massive glacier, pick a ship that heads into Glacier Bay. If you want the spectacular image of nature up close pick the Tracy Arm. If the ship can get all the way up the Tracy Arm you'll see a glacier, if not you'll experience the ice-floe (chunks of ice that have broken off the glacier and floating in the sea.)

The bottom line, check the cruise line you want to sail on and see if any of their ships go to Glacier Bay or the Tracy Arm. Decide which is best for you and make the appropriate booking. Absolutely, read the 10 Tips To A Discounted Cruise before you decide anything.
