Revealed...Alki Beach in Seattle

Alki Beach in Seattle - Located at 1702 Alki Ave. SW, Seattle.

This beach is probably the most popular of the Seattle beaches. Located in West Seattle, considered the "birth-place" of Seattle (Arthur Denny, Seattle's pioneer, anchored his ships off Alki Beach in the 1800's). The beach offers a great view of Seattle, neighboring islands and the pristine Puget Sound waters. You'll find a host of activities; bicycling, skating, walking, beachcombing, sun-bathing, sand volley, and the most popular activity, "people-watching".

As a kid, I spent many hours of playtime on this majestic piece of land. Over the years, Alki Beach in Seattle, has had many changes, good changes. One of the prime aspects of the beach is a stroll either on the sand or the nice waterfront walkway. It's ideal for all ages.

The view of downtown Seattle is spectacular, especially on a sunny day. When the sun comes out in Seattle, it's as if there were never any "gloomy-days". The blue-skies, with soothing sun-rays penetrating your skin takes away the negative thoughts of any "gloomy-days". This is sure to happen at Alki. It's really beautiful.

If this is your first time to Seattle, Alki is a must. Grab some "Fish & Chips" or delicious Prawns from SPUDS, right across the street from the beach, and slither away in a picturesque environment. In the summer months, parking is a-bit challenging; however, if you persist and look off the main roadway you'll find parking.

You'll notice there are not many individuals swimming, the water is "freezing", even in the summer months. More than likely you'll see kids splashing about in the water, they seem to be immune to the cold; however, most of us adults simply splash some cool refreshing water on our body then quickly revert back to sunbathing.
