Camping Supply...Get the Facts
Camping Supply...quality Outdoor Gear is an important attribute for us and probably for you too or you wouldn't be reading this. It's important for you to have high quality at a reasonable cost, isn't it? That quality at affordable costs? As Travel/Tour Operators & Guides, you'll Get the Facts about camping equipment and what's important putting together your own camping items. We've countless groups and put the equipment to the test. Quality Camping Equipment...last's a life time You can have equipment that will last over time and be dependable during those camping experiences. A few years back we purchased a low quality tent from a local department store at a very cheap price. Yep, it was cheap. It wasn't long and the zipper on the door broke, some stitching came out and the seams leaked. To my dismay, my wife was not very happy...to sleep in a wet soggy tent. I NEVER made that mistake again. I had to re-consider what our camping supply items consist of. Since the 70's we've had the opportunity to try out a variety of equipment...it amazes me that there are some "brands" that stand out over time, like: Coleman, Eureka, etc. Now, the task is to combine quality name brands with low costs delivering you the camping supply equipment. We searched extensively for a good camping supply outlet store. We want quality gear at affordable prices without having to continually shop several stores. Some fellow campers suggested we check out this store called "Sports Authority". We did and never looked back. They solved all of our camping needs. And they have a good reputation with substancial savings. Check out the Outdoor Gear, you'll be glad you did. YOU can now get your quality camping supply at low costs just like us and thousands of others. Places such as The Sports Authority only deal with quality at low costs. You might say it's like a Camping Supply Outlet Mall. Oh, we've also scrutinized and used much of the equipment offered at Sports Authority. They only sell quality items for your camping supply. Big SAVINGS for You... Sports Authority currently over 20 stores throughout the United States, a well established company with buying power. What does that mean? That kind of buying power means savings to YOU! Some of the savings that you will experience are: No Sales Tax (sorry if you live in PA or KY you are subject to paying sales tax), Free Shipping (this applies to most of the items and when your oder is $99 or more), and an Additional 20% OFF the already discounted costs when you order a camping package (this is a camping package that you create; ie. tent, sleeping bag, stove, etc., it's pretty neat. This is what makes the best opportunity for you, to aquire any camping supply piece of equipment with high quality that will last for years. A Quality Camping Package with BIG Savings... Tents: We like the Eureka Tetrogon. The Eureka(r) 2003 Tetragon 7 is a lightweight and versatile, 3-season dome tent with a free-standing, 2-pole design for fast and easy set up. It features a hooded front and rear fly for venting in any weather and a side-opening door for easy entry. It also includes clear windows to let the light in and a mud mat outside the front door to place your boots and help keep out dirt. The Rain Fly, it covers the tent...keeps the rain out. Need a BIGGER Tent? Consider this one... Eureka Sunrise 11 Dome Tent 11' x 11' (6 person). The Eureka(r) Sunrise 11-ft x 11-ft dome tent features a 3-season design with a large, full-access, twin-track side opening door for easy entry and 4 large windows for ventilation. The shock-cord, fiberglass frame with clips and rod sleeves offer fast and easy set-up. Here are some good tips about tents. Sleeping Bags: The first question is, "what type of camping are you going to do? Is it going to be cold?" We like the mummy bags verses the retangular bags simply because if it gets cold you can keep the warmth in. The mummy bags have less room at the head area allowing the body warmth to stay in the bag. A rectangular bag lets the air flow in and out much easier. The temperature rating of the bag reflects what kind of temperatures you are camping in. If you are primarily in warm weather consider the Exponent by Coleman. If its cooler weather then the Downright Alpine or Slumberjack is more than adequate for your camping supply items. We get the cooler bags, if it is too hot it's pretty easy to unzip them and allow the air to flow. It is easier to cool down if it's too hot then it is to warm up if it's too cold. Camping Stoves: This depends on the amount of people you have to cook for. We like the Coleman 3 burner and Coleman Propane Grill/Stove Combo. Because we have six of us in the family and usually friends camping with us, we want something that will perform. These stoves perform. The combo stove allows the added grill advantage. We like that option for some added variety in camping. Add this to your camping supply. Lanterns: An essential item to have in your camping supply and yet, often overlooked. When the sunsets, it is nice to have some light especially if you are planning on staying up awhile. We like the Coleman Adjustable Liquid Fuel Lantern. We've had one for years and it keeps working. The only draw back is the fuel that you have to purchase and carry around. If you dont want that added bother check out the propane lanterns. They are good, easy to use and no mess. Don't forget a flashlight. The Coleman 3-D Nightstand Flashlight is durable and shines a strong beam of light...add it to your camping suppy items. Cooler: The Igloo 42 Quart Weelie Cooler has performed greatly for us, an added bonus for your camping supply items. Even the Kids can roll this one around. We do like the Coleman Power Chill Thermoelectric Cooler too. We don't need ice or ice packs anymore. First Aid Kit: An often overlooked item in the camping supply items. We use the Adventure Medical Kit and add aditional items as needed. Put some of the Insect Repellent Lotion in it too. A Camping First Aid Kit is a critical addition to your camping supply...don't overlook it. Water Filter: Another critical item for your camping supply, don't over look a water filter. There's nothing worse than being out in the field and getting sick from drinking water. It'll ruin your entire camping experience. If you have kids, and they get sick, they may never want to camp again. Get a water filter, you'll be glad you did. Camping Accessories: Don't forget to get a ground cloth for your tent. This will save on the life of your tent and help keep you dry in the event of a rain shower. Oh, tent stakes. You need to get some extras added to your camping supply items. A Spartan Folding Chair is an additional luxury to add to your camping supply, not essential but nice. My wife loves sitting in the chair, reading. I like dozing in the chair. The Kids...well they could do without. They can't sit long enough to enjoy it. The Coleman Folding Table makes the campsite when there are no picnic tables nearby. Get one, you'll be glad you did. Just add it to your camping supply list. Camping Bed: There were the days when we use to just throw our sleeping bags on the ground and sleep. Not the best way to get some good needed sleep. We use the Coleman King Size Quick Bed, an addition to our camping supply. It will also keep you dry in the event any wanter should get into your tent. The Kids use the Coleman Double. They love it. It also doubles as a trampoline. The Kids love jumping on the beds. Navigation: "Where are you going?" But more importantly, "How are you going to get back?" Nowadays, the global positioning units have made navigation a "snap". You can find just about anything; streets, airports, and a host of other destinations. You'll never be lost either driving or hiking. If you don't already have one then add it to your camping supply. Check them out. The Magellan(r) Meridian GPS Bundle comes complete with the Meridian GPS Unit, the MapSend Streets & Destinations CD-ROM, a Power Cable with cigarette plug adapter, and a Vehicle Bracket. The Meridian GPS unit is designed with the serious navigator in mind. This rugged and easy-to-use navigational tool is equipped with a 2 MB database of the U.S. It includes highways, major waterways, airports, cities and more. If you need one that has more features... The Garmin(r) GPS V Deluxe GPS unit can pinpoint your location to within 3 meters and is equipped with a built-in routable basemap with cities, highways, interstates, local thoroughfares, airports, rivers, lakes, and more. It can create a route and provide you with turn-by-turn directions to your location. The innovative design allows you to switch the display from horizontal for mounting on a bike or a car's dash to vertical for handheld use. Now that you have all of the necessary and affordable camping supply equipment just one added thing...use it! We've camped for years, loved every minute minute of it. The most important is the good memories that we take with us, the good memories of one another. Backpacking and Mountaineering Equipment...
