Federal Way...Many Opportunities
Federal Way, Washington...did you ever imagine that this a wonderful place to get away and experience some romance? Yep, it is. This suburban community of Seattle is a perfect place to explore those little hidden gems of beauty, both in your partner and the beauties of Mother Nature. Federal Way is easy to get to, located between Seattle and Tacoma and just a few miles south of SeaTac International airport. Once here, you can get some nice quaint accommodations, check out our Travel Network. There are some nice areas to explore that only the locals know about; like the Redondo Boardwalk, located right along the glistening waters of Puget Sound. You can stroll along this elegant boardwalk at all hours of the day. Sunsets are great as you romantically stroll along the boardwalk watching the glowing embers of the setting sun. Then partake in a romantic style dinner at the local Salty's restaurant over-looking the water. You won't go wrong. Here's a romantic stroll that most don't even know about, the boardwalk at Hylebos State Park. It's a little tricky to find, and that's why most people know nothing about it. Find S 348th Street and 4th Ave, it's tucked away off the road on the southern side. You'll have to drive down, what looks like a driveway, before you enter the actual park area. It's a beautiful, exciting mile walk though the forest and a bog. Bring along a picnic lunch and enjoy the quiet romance together. You can also head over to the 24-acre site of the Rhododendron Gardens. This is magnificent, strolling hand-in-hand through beautiful wide open gardens. Ask anyone where the Gardens are by Weyerhaeuser, most of the locals are familiar with this locality. If you like to relax by a small lake, Federal Way is full of them. Pick up any map or ask the locals for their favorite lake and they'll send you in the right direction. Here's a couple to wet your appetite; 5-Mile Lake (it's not 5-miles long, it's small) and Steel Lake. For some further excitement, perhaps not so romantic is visiting Enchanted Parks. This is a village of amusement rides and a water park. It's a busy place but loads of fun! From Federal Way you can hop into other areas to further explore, like Tacoma and Seattle. A picturesque drive to Tacoma is following Highway 509. You'll drive by spectacular sites overlooking Puget Sound and the tall evergreen trees that make the State of Washington famous. Stay on the main roads that follow the water, you'll end up along Tacoma's notorious waterfront drive, Ruston Way. Park your vehicle and stroll along this beautiful parkway. You'll over look the gander of Puget Sound and nearby Vashon Island.
