Things to do... Outside of just lounging around Gold Beach and enjoying the splendid beach you can take a jet boat up the Rogue River. This is pretty exciting. You'll have an opportunity to explore the quaint scenic areas along the river as well as white water sections on the Rogue River. You can get a half-day trip or an all-day trip. We recommend the whole day! You'll go over a hundred miles on the river and stop at a lodge, up-river, for lunch or dinner. Contact Jerry's Rogue River Boats at 800-451-3645. For the more adventureous ones... not that riding a jet boat isn't adventureous, but you can also take part in a kayak trip or launch your own kayak and explore the Rogue River. This is pretty neat. Just be sure to check out the river before you launch your own boat. You can contact Wilderness Canyon Adventures about their kayaking tours: 888-517-1613. Or try, Gold Beach Adventures at 888-301-6480. Photographers Only... You'll love this...if you haven't driven down to the Oregon/California border, do so and get ready for some picture taking. The 37-mile drive down the coast is spectular. As you make your drive down, stop off at Cape Sebastian State Scenic Viewpoint. You'll be 700 feet above sea level looking at some amazing scenery. Camping... You can camp at Honeybear Campground just 9 miles north of Gold Beach, it's a pretty good place. Call them at 800-822-4444. Harris Beach State Park is about 27 miles south of Gold Beach Oregon. There's 149 paved campsites. Alfred A. Loeb State Park is about 10-miles outside of Brookings. Stake you claim early in the day if you plan on using this park during the peak summer season. Turtle Rock Resort is a pretty neat place too. It's right off the beach on Gold Beach Oregon.
