KIMPTON’S SEATTLE AND PORTLAND HOTELS LAUNCH “OPERATION ROMANCE” TO HELP RETURNING TROOPS REKINDLE AND RECONNECT

The Alexis Hotel, Hotel Monaco Seattle, Vintage Park, Hotel Monaco Portland and the Vintage Plaza celebrate military homecomings with luxury and romance for $99.

Kimpton’s Seattle and Portland hotels are putting romance into R & R as the troops return home. Today the five hotels announced “Operation Romance”, a special deal for military personnel to relax, rekindle and romance their significant other after a long time apart.

This package, starting from $99, includes a one night stay in a luxury room, a bottle of wine and a $20 gift certificate to any of the adjoining Kimpton restaurants. “This is our salute to the returning troops”, said Tom Waithe, Kimpton’s Director of Operations in the Pacific Northwest. “Military personnel and their families make so many sacrifices to keep us safe, this is just a small way for Kimpton Seattle and Portland to say thank you and show our appreciation.”

The “Operation Romance” package is available now through February 2011 at all Kimpton Seattle and Portland downtown hotels and adjoining restaurants. Locations in Seattle include the luxury art-themed Alexis Hotel (and Library Bistro and Bookstore Bar), the wine lover’s Vintage Park (and Tulio Ristorante) or the whimsical Hotel Monaco (and Sazerac restaurant). In Portland, check out the vibrant Hotel Monaco (and Red Star Tavern) or for the Oregon wine lover the Vintage Plaza (and Pazzo). Packages can be booked for Friday or Saturday nights at www.kimptonhotels.com using rate code “OPR”.

The package is open to all U.S. and Canadian military personnel, active and retired. Guests must show a valid military identification upon check-in. To help guests relax and round out the stay, Kimpton hotels also offer a number of other additional amenities, including a hosted nightly wine hour, complimentary plush robes for lounging in the room, and the ability to book in-room spa services.
