Lincoln City Oregon...where the beach never ends. There's miles of sandy beaches. A total of 7.5 miles of sandy beach stretch to the north and south. It's claim to fame is the Spin Sock. It's a type of windsock that spins on a little swivel. I'm sure by now you've seen them. They're all over the coast. Just to the east of Lincoln City Oregon is Devils Lake, a 680 acre freshwater lake. For the camper you will find a nice little camp area near the lake. It has 85 sites, 31 with full hook-up, 54 tent sites, 10 yurts and an area for hikers/bikers. You'll enjoy the lake and the amenities: tables, grills, flush toilets, drinking water, showers, pay phone, launch and moorage dock...so bring your boat...go kayaking, canoeing, water-skiing or fishing. From the campground you can easily walk to the shops and restaurants, very convenient yet offers seculed campsites. Be sure to make reservations at www.oregonstateparks.org. D River Wayside is the busiest parking access to the Beach around Lincoln City Oregon. It's located on the west side of Highway 101, on the south bank of the river. The D river, coming out of Devils Lake, is one of the shortest rivers, about 200 yards long. You'll also enjoy the annual Spring and Fall Kite Festivals...right here. Lincoln City is the beginning of a stretch of Beach, for 30 miles to the south, to Newport, that many Northwesterners believe is as popular as the French Riveria. For good reason of course. The spectular scenery is awesome with the miles of coastal beach, neat little towns and harbors. Here you'll also find the most unique accomodations, tiny oceanfront rooms to large suites or homes. Lincoln City is also known for the most abundant means for accomodating people. You should find a place to sleep. One of the newest additions to Lincoln City is the Chinook Winds Casino, located just west of Hwy 101, at the north end of town off of 44th. If you have kids with you, stop by the creative playground at Regatta Grounds City Park off of NE 15th. The kids will be happy you took them there. If you like shopping, shop till you drop with the 66 Factory Stores and countless shops throughout Lincoln City. Do you like art? Lincoln City Oregon is the place for you. Just stroll around town and you'll see many small fine-quality art shops to stop in at.
