The Model Sailing Ship...
May Bring You Fortunes

Get your Model Sailing Ship now!

We've introduced the model sailing ship to our collection of gift items. Obviously, anyone living or traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest will confront some water, whether it's a lake, river or the Pacific Ocean.

Unfortunately, purchasing a "real" watercraft can be expensive, the initial cost of the boat, moorage and upkeep. A model ship definately keeps the costs down.

My love for boats began at an early age. Of course, growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was surrounded by water; therefore, boating was a way of life. From early on I made my first boat, a simple raft by tying logs together. Eventually I was teaching sailing, skippering and sailing offshore throughout the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

The purpose of a sailing vessel was initially for transportation; however, nowadays, we have a line of pleasure craft that are designed for recreational purposes. Transportation still plays a major role for vessels, from large oil tankers to small commuter ferries. The old cargo sailing vessels of the past are now relics and museum pieces that once played the critical transportation role.

The model sailing ship, replicas of the old cargo sailing vessels, bring the nature of the sea right into your home. There are some who say that if you have a model ship it will bring you good fortune for the ship represents "the bringing of fortune". We thought, "why not get a ship and place it above our mantel, if it brings good fortune, all the better".

We now have a beautiful model sailing ship above our mantel and another two model ships in other areas of our home. We like boats so it made sense to put a fine decorative craft for everyone to enjoy. We've found many visitors to our home are very impressed with the model ship.

Boats have a certain essence of tranquility. You might say it’s like a floating "secret" as a boat sails over thousands of feet of water. It's where you meet the boat and develop that personal relationship. The boat takes on its own character, charm and personality. Before too long, you'll find yourself talking to "her", just as you would another person.

The sea is often referred to as masculine and the only way to conquer this masculine aspect was to have the feminine aspect. A boat; therefore, takes on the feminine characteristic and is often referred to as "she". It's this character that the boat takes on that causes a deep relationship between itself and the owner.

Boat owners typically have great pride in their vessels, whether large or small, shipshape or not.

When a vessel is not "shipshape" it's often referred to, as "she’s a good boat, made it through the toughest seas". It's rare that you'll hear anyone speak disrespectfully about his or her boat. And if you do, the real question lies within the captain's abilitiy to love and care for her (the boat).

A boat ultimately is like a woman, love and care for her and she’ll shine. Mistreat them and they sink.

Through our travels we've found some good quality model sailing ships that are extremely affordable. You don't have to pay for moorage and there's little upkeep, just a simple dusting once in a while. Get a model sailing ship for yourself or a friend. These are NOT souvenirs; they represent the essence of the sea. Get your Model Sailing Ship now!

Sincerely,
