Oregon Hotel...
Get The Best Rate

What Oregon Hotel do you want to stay at and get the low rate?...

With over 20 years in the travel industry we'll share some ways that can save you money on your next hotel stay or anywhere for that matter.

We've gone through the labor intensive process of reviewing Travel Associations and Internet Sites over the years. We look for the best options available to you, the traveler. We consider hotel picks, ratings, locations, customer service and low rates. We've concluded that Orbitz has one of the Lowest Oregon Hotel Rates to offer.

Orbitz is all encompassing offering the largest selection of low Oregon hotel rates on Planet Earth! So far we are very impressed with the low hotel rates and quality of service.

Five airlines started Orbitz; American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United. They have the connections within the industry to get deep discounts on hotel stays. That's a great benefit for you.

Deep Hotel Discounts...

Now, secure the best hotel rate. Enter the appropriate information on the Orbitz site for your Oregon hotel stay. Note the rates given. (The rates are already a good discount but let's see if we can save even more money!)

Take your given Oregon hotel rate, or any destination you wish to stay at, from Orbitz and call the hotel. Give them the same information as you did with Orbitz, date of arrival, departure, etc. Ask for their absolute best rate, not their rack rate.

They will probably give you a rate higher than Orbitz. Now, negogiate over the phone. Ask for a 25% less that Orbitz offered you. You may get it but don't be surprized if you don't. Orbitz rates are very competitive.

A side note. A hotel is similar to a retail store. The hotel's product is rooms. If there's an over abundance of rooms available then the rooms may go on sale. But, you may not know about the sale unless you ask. Don't pay retail or the "rack rate" on your hotel room.

If you are flexible, don't book your room, just show up at the hotel, preferably in the evening time. Most people who book a room do so days in advance. This is where flexibility comes in. You now have the buyers advantage of just showing up. You have the option of leaving if the price is not right.

An empty room in a hotel makes no money. It's in the best interest of the hotel to have the room rented out, even if it's at cost. An empty room is an expense but if the room is rented out at cost or even a little above cost the hotel is still in the profit margin bracket.

You show up at the hotel with your information, the rack rate and any discount rates that you got from Orbitz. Ask the hotel clerk, or better yet the manager for their best rate. They will give you a rate. Ask for a better rate...chances are they will give you a better rate if they are not booked. That is why it is important to arrive at the hotel in the evening and start your negotiating process. In the evening the hotel will know if they have open rooms.

If you don't get the rate you want, leave. Go to another hotel and do the same thing.

If you are not flexible and don't want to negogiate room rates, you still can utilize great savings at Orbitz. You'll know you're getting a good competitive rate.

Another option to save money on Oregon hotel rates, or any hotel rates for that matter, is to be a Tour Operator. A Tour Operator represents thousands of potential dollars to a hotel. A hotel wants your business of bringing guests to their hotel or making recommendations. We've saved a great deal as a Tour Operator. From running our Travel/Tour company we wrote a book, The Secrets of Making Money Traveling, describing step by step how you can start your own tour company and utilize some tactics on securing good hotel rates.
